SiteGround offers several security options including SG Site Scanner to let you know if your site is under attack, SpamAssassin and SpamExperts anti-spam tools, hotlink protection, and IP blocking lists. Scans all links on your homepage to make sure they are clean.

SiteGround also offers an interesting feature called Leech Protect which allows administrators to prevent users from sharing or publicly publishing their passwords for parts of the site. I also like the fact that SiteGround integrates with CloudFlare's Content Delivery Network (CDN) service for better performance and security. While any website owner can easily sign up with CloudFlare, the integration (available for free!) Means more people who had no idea it was an option can now take advantage.

Another helpful tool is SiteCheck. This automatic software scan tool checks your website for malware in your code or on your website. Running it periodically is a good idea as the last thing you want to see in your inbox is messages from annoyed users saying visiting your website has infected their computers. 

Perfect working time

For this test, I use a website monitoring tool to track the uptime of my test sites over a two-week period. Every 15 minutes, the tool pings my site and sends me an alert if it cannot contact the site for at least a minute. The data revealed SiteGround to be stable; our test site did not fall even once during the two-week observation period.

Customer service

SiteGround claims to be primarily focused on customer service and shows up in numerous service builders, knowledgebase articles, and tutorials. Customer support is available through the ticket-based system, live chat and 24/7 telephone support.

SiteGround is a better option than Bluehost due to better performance (uptime and speed), friendly support, more advanced (free) backup options, price transparency and various available data centers (servers) on 4 continents: USA, Europe, Australia and Asia.

Bluehost's shared plans offer more storage space, and prices can be (a little small) cheaper, assuming you don't need a third-party provider for missing Bluehost features (like Advanced Backup).
